The BRC Global Standards Consultants scheme was developed to help manufacturers achieve and maintain BRC certification, with Consultants acting as a link between BRC Global Standards and the site.

With their skills, knowledge and experience, a BRC Global Standards Consultant can be a huge benefit on your journey towards gaining certification. And you’ll have the assurance that your Consultant is up-to-date with the BRC Global Standards and is able to consult with professionalism, integrity and competence.

  • A pre-assessment to determine your requirements
  • A gap analysis
  • Advice on developing a written plan and timeline for implementation
  • A review of existing practices and procedures and suggestions for improvement
  • Help with troubleshooting
  • Advice on setting up management systems including record keeping
  • Ongoing guidance to technical and quality teams
  • Advice on implementing the BRC Standards certification program

HOW ARE CONSULTANTS SELECTED FOR THE SCHEME?

 

To maintain and safeguard the integrity of the BRC Global Standards, it's essential our consultants meet strict criteria if they want to achieve registration, including:

  • Rigorous background checks to ensure they have the right skills and knowledge
  • The completion of BRC Global Standards training and exams
  • Education to degree level in the relevant sector of the BRC Global Standard
  • A minimum of 5 years’ sector experience
  • Completion of a QMS Lead Auditor course
  • Two professional references 

How to become a BRC Global standards CONSULTANT

To become a BRC Global Standards Consultant you need to be able to demonstrate, through your qualifications and work experience, a satisfactory level of knowledge and expertise in the sector you want work in.

The criteria to become a BRC Global Standards Consultant, for each of the BRC Global Standards, is highlighted in the application form. As a minimum you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent in a field relevant to the BRC Global Standard you want to consult for
  • Successful completion of a registered QMS Lead Auditor course or equivalent
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the relevant sector
  • Evidence of previous consulting experience and at least two references from companies

Minimum Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent in a field relevant to the BRC Global Standard
  • Successful completion of a registered QMS Lead Auditor course or equivalent
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the relevant manufacturing sector
  • Successful completion of a BRC Global Standards training course on relevant sector
  • Evidence of training experience and the provision of two references
  • Successful completion of HACCP training based on the principles of Codex
  • Alimentarius, and of at least two days duration

  • Module 9: Management of Food Materials for Animal Feed

    This module is applicable to food manufacturers whose primary output is the production of food products for human consumption. The scope of the module covers all food products that are no longer intended for human consumption and which are supplied either directly or indirectly for use in the farmed animal feed chain. The module may be used globally; however it has been produced with specific reference to European legislation.
