GlassGuard manufacture an extensive range of high quality products designed to provide the highest level of protection for the food and associated industries, public area’s and other specialised applications.

Suppliers who are BRC certificated can now benefit from GlassGuard’s range of products to ensure the highest levels of safety during the manufacturing process. BRC certificated suppliers will be able purchase this product range from preferred wholesalers at discounted prices. In addition BRC certificated suppliers can benefit from the reassurance and security that comes with working with GlassGuard, Europe’s largest manufacture and developer of shatterproof lamps.

GlassGuard, Europe's largest shatterproof lamp manufacturer, has been coating lamps for over 10 years providing unique reliable protection for the food and associated industries. Eliminating the risk of glass contamination from broken lighting is a serious issue for all BRC Certificated companies as particles of glass cannot be detected like metals.

Shaun Thorp, Dalehead Engineering Manager, Said “We selected the GlassGuard Proteus IP65 fittings because of the 5 year shatterproof lamp option with a 24W energy reduction which meet all the requirements of safety and hygiene audits.”

New Standard

Glass Guard Front CoverFragment Retention Lamp Standard BS EN61549 will be effective from Spring 2010 so the food industry can enjoy reliable industry compliant shatterproof fluorescent lamps past 20,000 burning hours by installing lamps carrying the “Black Band” marking.  Lamps with the “Black Band” ring contain 100% glass on impact at end of lamp life (20,000 hours) and can be used in any application.

Technical Managers and Auditors can now easily identify genuine shatterproof fluorescent lamps over non compliant types which typically do not contain glass particles past 5,000 hours (8 months use). GlassGuard “Black Band” shatterproof fluorescent lamps save money, reduce maintenance costs and contain 100% glass.
