Introduction to Enrolment

The BRC enrolment programme has been introduced to encourage the development of best food safety practices in factories where food safety systems are still developing. The programme provides an introduction to the BRC Standard and certification processes and will provide access to a range of resources as these are developed to assist sites with improving food safety. The programme incorporates the main features of the BRC Global Food Standard including:

  • A full audit by a BRC qualified auditor
  • Assessment of the site to the full requirements of the Global Food Standard
  • An audit report allowing customers to understand both food safety controls in place and areas identified for further development
  • Access to tools to help sites improve food safety systems
  •

The Benefits of Enrolment

  • Access to a range of tips and tools to help in development of food safety systems – currently being developed
  • Access to self-assessment checklists to prepare for the audit
  • An audit process providing an overall score and section scores allowing a measure of performance and the ability to monitor and prioritise areas for improvement.
  • The weighting for scores reflects the levels established by the GFSI Global Markets programme.
  • The audit is completed against a GFSI recognised standard providing international customer recognition. The audit report and scores are accessible from the secure log in area of the BRC Directory thus allowing sites to share the information with their customers, although this will not be displayed on the public website
