SUSPENDED CERTIFICATION BODIES

 

BRC Suspension of Eurocert


The BRC formally suspended BRC registration of Eurocert, Chlois 89 & Likovriseos, Metamorfosi, Athens 14452 from auditing against the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety on 24th July 2012 due to poor performance against the BRCs Key Performance Indicators. 

The BRC Compliance Manager Karen Betts will be working closely with Eurocert and their accreditation body UKAS to review certification processes and ensure that appropriate additional safeguards have been put in place to ensure the integrity of the BRC scheme. A corrective action plan will be put in place and reviewed to establish if the suspension can be lifted.

The action taken by the BRC underlines the importance which is placed on the absolute integrity of the BRC scheme.

BRC Removal of Approval of NSAI

The BRC formally removed registration of NSAI (National standards Authority of Ireland) National Technology Park, Castletroy Ireland on 6th December 2012 following poor performance against the BRCs Key Performance Indicators.

NSAI may no longer offer any new certification to the BRC schemes.    

The action taken by the BRC underlines the importance which is placed on the absolute integrity of the BRC scheme.

Consequences of this action:-

Existing certificated sites (14 sites)

 A review has been undertaken of the processes operated by NSAI to ensure the validity of currently issued certificates. There is no reason to doubt the validity of these certificates and the certificates will be valid for the duration of the certificate. NSAI are responsible for the certificates for the duration.

Sites with audits due

NSAI are not permitted to undertake any BRC audits.
Sites should make arrangements with an alternative BRC approved and accredited Certification Body, visit www.brcglobalstandards.com for their next audit when due

The action taken by the BRC underlines the importance which is placed on the absolute integrity of the BRC scheme.

Consequences of this action:-

Existing certificated sites
A review has been undertaken of the processes operated by SABS to ensure the validity of currently issued certificates. There is no reason to doubt the validity of these certificates and the certificates will be valid for the duration of the certificate. SABS are responsible for the certificates for the duration.

Sites with audits due
SABS are not permitted to undertake any further BRC audits. Sites should make arrangements with an alternative BRC approved and accredited Certification Body visit www.brcdirectory.com when their next audit is due.
